December 7th….ahhhhh Brussels (and plenty of rest!)

What a smart thing to do! I stayed back and did not go anywhere outside of Brussels today. I NEEDED today! I got up first at about 7am and decided to go back to bed and really sleep in. Our free breakfast serves from 6:30am to 10am, and guess what time I woke back up? 10am! I could’ve cared less!!! I needed the rest and I felt fabulous sleeping that long!

I met up with my friend Pat. She had to get up early and get work things done and once she took care of that she had a few hours free so we walked toward Grand Place’ and instead of having breakfast, we shared a plate of thin-sliced meats and cheesed and crusty bread. It was FANTASTIC! And we were good because they had all sorts of waffles and crepes, etc. I took pictures of some of them! I also took pictures of the inside decor of the place as they had all sorts of old tea pots surrounding the upper walls of the place.

Then we shopped at the Christmas Mart…it was relaxing and fun; just how I hoped it would be. We had a wonderful time. Many shops selling Belgian lace from…..Bruge! So glad I bought mine while I was there!

We got to Grand Place’ and it was so pretty by day. The lights were lovely the night before but I could really do without the crowd! So we had a great day today and headed back about 2:30 ish as Pat had to go to work again and I swore to repack and do my postcards! I started the repacking and postcards when Sara knocked at the door and she had slept today until 2:00!!!!! She went to the museum and we agreed to meet at 5;30 which we did and we wento walking back to Christmas Mart and Grand Place’. We stopped and had tea at Metropole and stopped and shared a gyro type of wrap at a kebob shop and then wandered into the Christmas Mart. We samples some goodies and the closer we got to Grand Place, the more crowed it got. I decided to head back to the hotel to finish up my packing, catch up on my blog (!) and escape the crowd!!!!!
