I can’t wait to blog this day! But I was too tired at the finish of it and my hotel room was the size of a closet (but a most wonderful, very Parisienne closet with a welcome rose and sweets awaiting–but a shower that was, at most, 2 foot square!), so I didn’t even give it a thought on Saturday!!! We did so much, Pat and I. It was the BEST tourist day I think I’ve ever had that wasn’t part of someone’s plan or tour! It’s already too late again as I write this Sunday night (and I’m in Berkhamsted England at 10pm Sunday) so I’ll just be delaying it one more time really! I did do a lot of “checking in” on Facebook so it won’t be much of a surprise to everyone who knows me! Both Pat and I have never been to Paris and the girliest parts inside each of us always dreamed of going I suspect! I even made sure to rest up in Brussels for a day so I would have the energy and “legs” for a lot of touristing as we only had a day and a bit in Paris! We covered miles and miles of Paris and most of it on foot; a wee bit on the Metro trains. We figured it out for ourselves, even though we had a few hiccups and embarrassments! We, neither of us, cared in the least to SHOP…yes you heard me right!!! We just wanted to see it all and try to take it all in! I promise I will catch up more while I’m here at Ashridge on the lovely castle grounds that now comprise the Ashridge Business College but once was homes to various Earls, etc.! There’s a spa here and 190 acres of gardens and lawns … ahhhh but more about that in tomorrow’s post. I’ll add more to this as well as our Paris pictures after a good night’s rest! OX
