December 11th – Harry Potter Studio Tour!!!

Well thanks to Facebook check-ins, most everyone knows where I was throughout this Making of the Harry Potter Movies!  I was at the formerly Leavesden Studios which is now Warner Brothers.  The studios where all of the Harry Potter movies were shot.  It was touching to know that for 10 years these characters came to life and the actors playing them totally GREW UP here and were educated here and everything!  We saw the interior mock-up sets, the ACTUAL ONES!!!  We also saw the exterior sets of Privet Drive and the Potter house and the Hogwarts Bridge and teh flying car.  We saw hundreds and thousands of props and costumes and sets for the Ministry of Magic, Hagrid’s Hut, we saw the animatronics and the creatures in various stages of creation!  We enjoyed Butter Beer and even got photos of us flying on a broom (I looked right at home!  lol) and flying the car!  It was such fun.  And a perfect way to have my last day of this marvelous trip end with a lot of fun and relaxing entertainment!  Thank you to my wonderful friend Peggy for suggesting it…and thank goodness for facebook because I actually GOT the message ON vacation and in time to do it!  Heading home tomorrow morning….but I’m ready!  As Dorothy says….”there’s no place like home”…and I’m looking forward to spending time with my family and friends and poodles and coworkers and make-up homework due and my home…which has really become a home to me….and all in that order!  OX
