12/5/2013 7:17am PACKED and on the MOVE!
Quite strange to me that I haven’t blogged in a couple days! It’s Thursday morning December 5, 2013. Wow! I’ve repacked my bags to put them on the bus. Will eventually meet the bus this evening at the Metropole in Brussels for 2 nights. So excited to get to see the Grand Place’ again. It is really really GRAND so very appropriately named. And the Christmas Markets should be up and operational as well. There is nothing like these Christmas Markets in the US that I’m aware of. They are a spectacular in their own right.
Tuesday four of us went to Amsterdam. Because it was about 45 degrees and not very windy and no rain, it was like I was seeing it for the first time! The weather so far has been so different than last year that it’s almost like I’m here at a completely different season. I don’t know how much longer that will hold true, but I’m enjoying it as it goes on!
Yesterday was a relaxed sort of day; walked to a laundromat and did a load of laundry so when I repacked I was freshly reset for our new adventures! Didn’t think about taking pictures! I should have! Not that a Belgian laundromat is all that different…But it is interesting to try to figure things out in another language!!! It was right next door to a PIZZA HUT! Guess I should’ve taken a pic of that too!
We had dinner as a whole group at a Tapas restaurant and it was nice…a lot of it not my style! But when Pat and I walked back to the hotel we had a cup of Camomile Tea before heading to our rooms to finish packing and hit the sack.
I have to sign off now to load these bags.
I just want to reiterate, so if I read this back some day, I remember how important travel is/was to me and how exciting, interesting and life-affirming it has been.
