Aug 3,2016 on board Majesty of the Seas
Forgetting that with free internet I could download the WordPress app for my phone and maybe Blog the first few days of my vacation! It has been very therapeutic and wonderful all the way around. I had a minor concern that I only packed half the underwear needed and so was trying to figure out how to hand wash and hang it up so I could make it last for the whole 10 or 11 days of my trip. After I wash 3 pairs and hung them up realizing that they were probably going to take forever to dry I had a second thought that maybe I had some in the suitcase that has all the giveaways for my Anaheim trip.I pulled out the very heavy suitcase and sure enough I had pre thought that I would leave that in there since it wasn’t going to be opened until Anaheim!!!!
I’m spending most of the time with myself and with my textbook for my upcoming class that my professor asked me to read over the summer. I has only finished the Preface before boarding the ship! According to my kindle I’m nearing 1/4 done now
I did go to the main dining room for dinner the first night and sat next to two young brothers who were traveling together and they spoke to me and we had a lovely chat together. The one has just graduated and the other is still finishing college and they are scuba divers so they were planning excursions involving scuba diving and snorkeling together.
This is a small ship so it makes it easier to find things but I’m so used to the way things are on Carnival that the differences albeit small are a standout for me. Everybody is pushing a cart of something somewhere; dirty dishes, clean dishes, meals etc. I only seem to recall everyone carrying things on Carnival on big trays so all these carts are constantly forcing you to move out of the way.
There seems to be quite a few kids on this trip maybe because it’s such a short one; only 4 days. As I’m writing this blog two women walk past me and the one woman said this way is shorter and the other woman said I know but I don’t want to run into my kids! That sort of Explains It All doesn’t it.
While nursing my bum knee I am also trying to get in the minimum steps Garmin is asking me to do each day and of course each day it raises a wee bit. It’s only around 5000 steps a day right now so it’s definitely doable and I can break it up so that my knee can actually get stronger and I’m not injuring it further.
I’m sitting as I do this and looking out at Nassau and thinking about all of the times we’ve been here on cruises with family and friends and smiling from ear-to-ear because those have been some of the most wonderful times! I stayed on board to read and stay cool. There are 4 other ships in port along with ours and just didn’t feel like bothering with the crowds!
The pics below should probably catch everything up that I’ve done since I left on July 31st.
8/1/2016 I still get excited to this day as I get to the cruise port! This is my first Royal Caribbean cruise and my first time out of Port Canaveral… Check in was smooth as could be and I was on board in no time at all!

Mandatory muster drill…ugh It was short and sweet though!
I was Gifted a free bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! Their website kept screwing up when I was registering and trying to pay. I remember now that they had offered to give me this and I declined it saying I was traveling alone! Apparently it was still on the order but they had given me $25 in additional room credit instead; I managed to get both I guess!
My ocean view room
My ocean view window view!
Had to try the Drink of the Day after I got to the meeting place for the ship tour too late. Irony…I got lost on my way to learn my way around the ship!!!
8/2/2016–my view from the tender in to Coco Cay Island
I decided not to do formal night in the dining room and after returning board the ship from Coco Cay (Royal Caribbean private island) I showered and read some and then went to Johnny Rockets for a BLT And onion rings. Very happy with my choice
When the check in lady gave me this we both thought it was a free internet teaser But so far I’ve had free internet the whole time. But I refused to get my laptop out. Only Facebook and WhatsApp! — AMD WordPress if this post works
8/3/2016 Wouldn’t be right to pass up the ice cream machine right???!!! Only a teenie cone but quite perfect. In the background is a table lamp not a drink. I am reading my textbook for school after all. I did not get off the boat at Nassau today. There were 4 other ships in port and I’ve been there a number of times so I figured I’d avoid the crowds … it was a good idea! …hmmm in proofreading I may have said his earlier oops!
7/31/2016 On our way out of Aunt Bobbies this was at the front desk! They picked the right winner!!
Tried to capture quick pics of all the walkers lined up for dinner! Didn’t take time to make them look nice as I didn’t want anyone to feel bad!
Happy hour just prior to dinner with a pianist and private bartender! Aunt Bobbie getting us our drinks!!
Sue and Aunt Bobbie and all her friends. They’ve all sort of adopted Sue!
Aunt Bobbie making sure arrangements were in order to have me as a dinner guest
This pamphlet was made by my cousin Sue and her brother my cousin Michael Schwartz made a video (me and my sisters sent a short clip in too)…all to celebrate Aunt Bobbies 90th birthday. She is still beautiful and poised and we’ll read and sharp as can be. It was so wonderful yo visit with Aunt Bobbie and Sue and talk about old times before dad and Uncle Marc passed away. I felt completely welcomed and loved!

Hi my dear friend! I am so glad you decided to write your blog. You know I LOVE following your journeys! It looks like you are having a good time! Can’t wait to read the next one! Love and miss you! Linda
