11/26/2014 Wednesday-Kibbutz Yagur
Ahhh, first night of sleep last night was Fine and Dandy. Had a delicious cup of tea in my room before texting Michael. Since he was up all night Monday night too trying to get to the airport to get to me, I figured he’s plenty tired too.
The toilet across the hall from my room was broken….and this is how they handled that!!! Duct Tape is international!
NOt sure why, but I thought you’d want to see what a toilet stall looks like! This one is in the HoderOhel (the dining hall). Originally on the kibbutz all meals were held communally. That is no longer the case, but every day lunch is from 12 – 2 ish; and on Shabbat (Sabbath), dinner is as well. Nowadays, most have breakfast and dinner with their family in their homes

The dining hall
Michael and I at the dining hall. I had schnitzel…which is made of chicken in Israel and veggies and hummus!
Beautiful Bird of Paradise near our building. We took a really nice kibbutz walk with a friend of Michael’s, Allen. He also showed us his apartment and we met and enjoyed the walk with his doggie!
One of several children’s playgrounds on the kibbutz (notice the cutely decorated bunker/bomb shelter)
The kibbutz is at the base of the Carmel Mountain Ridge. It is gorgeous.
Moses in a Kumkwat tree!
A grapefruit tree
A really cool looking cactus…that is so big it’s a big tree!
Moses in an Aloe plant.
so many pretty plants and flowers; Moses enjoyed them too!
more grapefruits
one of many orange trees
walking across one of the bridges…everyone talks about the bridges in relation to whether or not there is water beneath. Due to the rains, there was water beneath and it is a “sight” to see as it is rare.
limes
found myself taken with this lovely 2 year old who just enjoyed an afternoon walk with his mom…and couldn’t resist playing in the mud! Kids are kids…everywhere!
there are tons of these electric mini golf cart thingys as how people now get around on a lot of the kibbutz. Back in the days, everyone walked everywhere every day! Modern luxuries!
Avacados….?!

Michael’s “adopted family” had us over to dinner. They were so wonderful to Michael and to us. I took a picture of the heater being on because it made me smile. It was 69 degrees this day!

and, while were at the Oz family home, Amazing Race Israel was on. It made me think of my sister Laura (and and I love Amazing Race and a lot of times when I’m watching it I text her in FB)!

I LOVE THE PICS!!!! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us 🙂
Love you!
